Focusing on productivity

When I'm working for someone else, I generally don't write code for myself. This allows me the luxury of factoring (often naively) ethics into my technology decisions.

Now that I'm getting back into serious programming for myself, it's time to make some significant tech decisions. Which got me caught in a loop: Windows, Linux, or macOS as my daily driver.

I've gone round and round with this. I hadn't realized how long (in my personal world) I'd been doing this until I found notes I'd written in 2017 on the same subject. With the same concerns and issues.

  1. It was like being slapped. In eight years, little had changed from an end-user standpoint.

I decided this was a wake up call. I picked the OS I'm most productive in as my daily driver and moved on.
