Removing Copilot from Microsoft Office apps

Using GPO to disable Copilot does not remove it from Office apps. To remove it from Office apps:

Disable using Copilot (do this once)

• File -> Account
• Click Manage Settings button
• Uncheck "Experiences that analyze your content"
  • Or uncheck "All connected experiences", but this turns off propagating "account privacy settings across devices".

Disable Copilot button (do this in every app)

• File -> Options -> Copilot
  • Uncheck "Enable Copilot"
• File -> Options -> Customize Ribbon
  • Remove the Home > Assistance item from the Main Tabs group
